‘Serok’ to compete at int’l festival for children MI PRIMER FESTIVAL

‘Serok’ by Zhiwar Farajzadeh is to vie at MI PRIMER FESTIVAL in Peru.

Iranian 2018 short film ‘Serok’ by Zhiwar Farajzadeh is scheduled to vie at the international film festival for children and teens MI PRIMER FESTIVAL in Peru.

The 5-min ‘Serok’ follows a day in the life of Serok, a young boy, forced to stand in as the shepherd for his father's flock during the summer.

“No matter where we live or what we do, financial struggles usually impact the children most - education suffers; dreams take a back seat. We hope that, at least, Serok gets the opportunity to become a policeman and drives his car. Only time will tell,” presented as a description to the flick.

Some of the international film festivals attended by ‘Serok’ include the 5th CinéStudent Int’l Film Festival, Inshort Film Festival in the UK, 3rd annual Philadelphia Environmental Film Festival, International Children’s Rights Film Festival in Turkey, Covellite International Film Festival in the US, Busan International Kids and Youth Film Festival, Cefalù Film Festival in Italy, 4th Realtime International Film Festival (RTF) in Nigeria, and Golden Bull Film Festival in Turkey.

‘Serok’ is also the winner of the Special Jury Prize at the 2nd Sulaimaniyah Children’s Film Festival in Iraq.

MI PRIMER FESTIVAL provides Peruvian children and young people an opportunity to understand different cultures from all over the world, and helps international children’s film professionals exchange experiences and ideas.

The 6th edition of the event will take place on February 16-23, 2020.
